Paneer Butter Masala
Ingredients:
- 1 cup paneer cubes
- 1 large tomato, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup water
Instructions:
- Prepare the gravy:
- Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Add minced garlic and ginger, and cook for another minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and cook until the tomatoes break down.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt.
- Cook for a few minutes more.
- Add water and let it simmer until the gravy thickens.
- Add paneer:
- Add paneer cubes to the gravy and simmer for a few minutes until the paneer is coated in the gravy.
- Finish with cream:
- Add heavy cream and let it simmer for a few minutes more.
- Serve:
- Serve hot with naan or rice.
